Respecting your information

Privacy Policy

This policy explains the personal information Hometown Bid LLC collects, why we use it, and the choices available to users.

Effective date: August 24, 2026

Information we collect

We may collect account details, contact information, listing content, photographs, bids, auction activity, support messages, device and usage information, and records needed to prevent abuse. Sellers and bidders should provide only information necessary to use the service.

Payment information

When payment features are activated, a secure third-party payment processor will process Hometown Bid’s platform fees. Hometown Bid will not store complete credit-card numbers. The payment processor may collect payment, identity, device, and fraud-prevention information under its own privacy terms.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts and auctions, record bids, identify winners, provide support, collect platform fees, prevent fraud, enforce our rules, improve the service, and comply with law.

When information is shared

We may share necessary information with service providers that host, secure, authenticate, analyze, or process payments for the platform; with the relevant buyer or seller to complete an auction; when required by law; or to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal information for money.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for operations, dispute records, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and legitimate business needs. We use administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls and encryption for sensitive bidder contact data, but no online system can promise absolute security.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible account information by emailing jeff@hometownbidauctions.com. Some records may be retained when legally required or reasonably necessary for security, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute documentation.

Children

Hometown Bid is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly permit minors to create seller accounts or enter binding transactions through the platform.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as the service develops. Material revisions will be posted here with a new effective date.
